Join one of the world's largest investment managers as a permanent Senior SimCorp GAIN Technical Lead, at the heart of a major transformation of its front-to-back investment technology onto BlackRock Aladdin.

Aladdin is becoming the strategic front-to-back platform, but a large ecosystem of downstream investment managers and partners still relies on specialist instrument, issuer and security data that Aladdin cannot provide on its own.

SimCorp GAIN therefore stays a critical part of the target architecture.

Upstream sources (including Aladdin) → SimCorp GAIN → Downstream investment systems and partners

GAIN receives the data, processes and manages it, and keeps supplying the specialist data downstream consumers need, shielding them from the complexity of the wider Aladdin programme.

The Role

This is a hands-on technical lead role. The team has plenty of managers; what it needs is the senior engineer who gets into GAIN Studio every day and solves the hard problems.

This isn't a project management, business analysis or generic SimCorp Dimension position, and there is no people management.

Your work will include:

  • Hands-on development and configuration in SimCorp GAIN / GAIN Studio
  • Working extensively with Security Master: instrument, issuer and reference data
  • Using Data Browser to investigate and resolve data and application issues, and supporting users
  • Building and supporting GAIN integrations: receiving data from upstream sources, parsing, normalising and cleansing it, applying source-specific rules and distributing it downstream
  • Setting up and managing GAIN environments, not just developing in ones others look after
  • Diagnosing data quality, mapping, configuration and processing issues
  • Working alongside the SimCorp specialists already on the programme and the internal investment technology teams
  • Acting as the senior technical SME who can independently own difficult GAIN problems

What We're Looking For

The core requirement is deep, hands-on SimCorp GAIN experience, including:

  • GAIN Studio
  • Security Master
  • Data Browser
  • GAIN integrations you have personally built and worked on (from Aladdin, Bloomberg, other vendors or internal sources)
  • Instrument, issuer and security/reference data
  • Data mappings, transformations and complex upstream/downstream data flows
  • Setting up and adding GAIN environments

We are most interested in people who can talk through solutions they have personally built, configured and troubleshot, rather than projects they managed or supported from the functional side.

Experience in a major asset manager, asset owner or institutional investment environment is highly relevant. BlackRock Aladdin experience is a plus but not essential. Deep GAIN capability is the priority.

Location and Hours

The role is fully remote, with candidates based near one of these hubs:

  • India (Hyderabad or Chennai): 2pm to 11pm IST
  • UK (Edinburgh): 10am to 6pm
  • Poland (Poznan)
  • US (Fort Lauderdale): 8am to 6pm Eastern

Clients are predominantly US East Coast, so some flexibility to support outside these hours when needed is expected. US visa sponsorship (H1B) is not available.
